Just as every good novel comes to an end, so does my college career. As graduation quickly approaches, I cannot help but think of my experience at USC in a novelistic way, with this event marking the final chapter. In the end, though, it all ends. Elizabeth and Darcy find their happy ending, Romeo and Juliet reach their unhappy fate, Harry Potter vanquishes Lord Voldemort…and I receive a lovely diploma indicating I have completed the necessary units and earned a bachelor’s degree. It is a strange feeling, one I am sure many of the other graduates in the class of 2013 can sympathize with. However, in the case of both graduation and books, the story lives on past the final pages; as graduates, we will go on to live the rest of our lives, and the characters and themes of favorite books will always resonate in one’s mind.
So the end. Fin…it’s been real.
And happy graduation to the class of 2013!
