We often don’t feel motivated or driven enough to stand up for the rights of other people and create positive change in their lives. Most the time, we are busy with our personal struggles, or don’t realize the difficulties that many people face to have rights that seem to us so natural, such as access to education. Here are ten quotes to inspire you to help fight for better education for everyone:

1. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela

2. “He who opens a school door, closes a prison.” – Victor Hugo

3. “Education, then, beyond all other devices of human origin, is the great equalizer of the conditions of man.” – Horace Mann

4. “Education is essential to change, for education creates both new wants and the ability to satisfy them.” – Henry Steele Commager

5. “I’m more interested in arousing enthusiasm in kids than in teaching the facts. The facts may change, but that enthusiasm for exploring the world will remain with them for the rest of their lives.” – Seymour Simon

6. “It’s technology married with liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the results that make our heart sing.” – Steve Jobs

7. “Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.” – Anthony J. D’Angelo

8. “Don’t limit a child to your own learning, for he was born in another time.” – Rabindranath Tagore

9. “Poor people cannot rely on the government to come to help you in times of need. You have to get your education. Then nobody can control your destiny.” – Charles Barkley

10. “Education is learning what you didn’t even know you didn’t know.” – Daniel J. Boorstin
